There are tons of Dallas engagement photographers to choose from. In this post I’ll walk you through how I plan a proposal at the Dallas Arboretum. I hope this post gives you a better idea of what to expect out of the most exciting milestones in your relationship!

call to plan ahead

As soon as you send me an inquiry, I send over a pricing guide with all the details you need. From there, you can schedule a call where I’ll answer any questions you have. If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll officially book your proposal! Then I send over a Locations Guide (more info below!) and we confirm all the day-of details closer to your proposal date.

arrive at the meeting point early

On the day-of, I arrive early and blend in. Having talked to you or someone in your group earlier, I know what to look for and a general idea of where you’ll be coming from. I spot you walking up and start snapping photos as soon as I see you, without tipping off your partner. As you pop the question, I’m capturing the moment as genuinely as it gets.

I’ll grab a few of their reaction. Wiping tears, smiling from ear to ear, checking out the ring on their hand for the first time. If you have family or friends with you, I’ll get a group shot and all the candid, congratulatory hugs. After giving everyone a minute to let things sink in, we’ll move on to a photo session of just you two with the rest of our time.

I know proposals are a one-shot chance, and I do everything in my power to make sure yours is everything you’re hoping for!

Proposal Locations at the Arboretum

The Arboretum has so many endless photo opps! If you’re going in blind, it’s easy to get lost in there. This can make meeting up with your proposal photographer in a sneaky, seemless way very stressful. Part of what I provide when planning your proposal at the Dallas Arboretum is my Locations Guide, where you choose your proposal spot from a list of my favorite spots in the Arboretum itself (or send me your own!). It also includes directions on how to get there, so they’re super easy to find! I’ve done all the heavy lifting to make things effortless – you just have to show up and remember the ring.
