Today I’m sharing a few of James and Adrienne’s cute Dallas wildflower engagement photos. We decided on a field of gorgeous flowers outside of Dallas to get a romantic and colorful feel. The light was amazing, and their outfits perfectly complimented the pops of blue in the flowers. This was actually a mini session that was part of a unique wedding package I built for them, and I love what we came up with in such a short amount of time!

You’d be surprised how much you can get done in a mini session! You knock the classic poses out first, a couple crazy ones to loosen everybody up, and make sure to incorporate a lot of movement. It’s pretty much the same formula I use when shooting a regular session, just sped up. I never want anyone to feel awkward while taking photos with me, and that can be hard in such a short time. Asking you to move around, bump into each other while walking, or dance around for a second can really make a difference in the quality of your photos. It can feel weird to let loose at first, but I promise that your photographer isn’t looking to make you look bad. We’re looking for the moment after that big laugh where we get your genuine selves.

If it’s an engagement session like this one, I also like to get several different shots of the engagement ring so you have options for your wedding website or announcements.
