I’m excited to share some of this engagement session today. I finally got to meet Tarry & Michael, who found me earlier this year for their wedding day in December in Fort Worth. I really loved working on this gallery and I think you can tell we all had a prettyyy great time dancing around in the street shooting these.
When T+M first reached out for a wedding package, they mentioned wanting to incorporate African wedding traditions, so we decided to do the same for their engagement photos! They wanted something laidback but classic, something fun and familiar, but with a few traditional engagement shots.
After talking over a few spots around DFW, we decided to shoot in their family’s neighborhood after their engagement party. It ended up being perfect. They would both be in traditional dress, hair & makeup done, and ready to go. After everyone cleared out, we took a little walk by the pond and did some fun prompts to let loose.
We obviously had to dance around a little and get some spinning shots in that dress! 😍

I love a simple location like this for engagement photos. There are a ton of amazing, flashy options for engagement portraits around DFW, but there’s something about an easy, familiar location that just brings out the natural side of people. You can also get a ton of variety from a little spot like this (it’s allll about the poses and prompts). We spent most of our time just hanging out, snuggling up, and walking around. Like they would on a normal Thursday night walk after dinner – just a little fancier and with a little more spinning in the street. 🙃
I love how their gallery came out, and I can’t wait for their wedding day. After this session, I know we’re going to get some amazing shots!
