I get to work with the best people. Getting to know a couple through one of the most important times of their lives is such a special, cool thing. Your engagement isn’t just a happy time, filled with celebrations and careful planning, it’s also a time when your real personalities come out. As a McKinney LGBTQ wedding photographer, that’s one of my favorite things. One of the coolest ways to express who you are as a couple, and as individual people, is through your engagement session. I alsooo love when people choose a laidback location where they’re comfortable, because it definitely reflects in their photos.
When we started planning Chloe and Johnna’s engagement session, they made it clear they wanted to do something a little nontraditional. (Again, one of my favorite things.) They spend a lot of time on the downtown McKinney Square, and so do I, so we decided to meet there. They wanted something more natural for their photos, so naturally we headed to the Irish pub and played a round of pool after a few photos in the alleyway. (This is one of the many reasons they’ve been an absolute joy to work with. I can’t wait for their wedding this spring.)

I really feel that the most important part of your photos is feeling comfortable. If you’re comfortable in a bar, we’re shooting in a bar. And obviously I loved every second of it, this is one of my usual spots.
