This is another one of those posts I’ve been sitting on for no good reason. I swear I have the biggest backlog of weddings and sessions I need to share on here. If you compare my blog posts to my actual portfolio, it’s pretty embarassing how little I’ve shared on here. I’m off to a pretty good start for 2024 though, so let’s hope I can keep this up and give my work – and your wedding day – the visibility it deserves.

Jill + Matt were one of those couples were things instantly clicked. It’s been almost a year since their Avalon Legacy Ranch wedding and gondola engagement, but I still think of them as one of the nicest, easiest couples to work with. They totally trusted me going into their engagement session, and that, combined with their fun suggestions, made their photos some of my favorites to this day. We all genuinely had a great time working together through their engagement and wedding day in McKinney, and it absolutely shows in their beautiful final gallery. The bright colors and floral touches they chose for their spring wedding absolutely spoke to their vibrant personalities.

McKinney Wedding Vendors
I also hooked Jill + Matt up with my list of local wedding vendors. My vendor list is something I’m happy to share with all of my couples: it gives you a great jumping off point for planning your day, or filling any spots you have left with people you know will come through. (And yes, it definitely includes some trusted videographers I work with closely, like the one who shot this wedding with me!)
(ps – We’d already done a whole bridal session for Jill, which is why you don’t see a ton of bridal photos here for her. Maybe I should post that next!)
After getting ready they exchanged gifts. Jill gifted him a spicy album which was a total surprise for Matt. Matt got her a thoughtful pair of earrings. Then we got Jill into her dress and lined up for the ceremony. I’m not gonna lie, this was one of those days where I’m really glad I make my own wedding day timeline as part of your wedding photography package. This helps us stay on track and plan for any bumps in the road, which sometimes really comes in clutch.
Avalon Legacy Ranch Wedding Photographer
This was my second time shooting an Avalon Legacy Ranch wedding, and I can’t wait to go back! If you’re having a wedding at Avalon Legacy Ranch in 2024-2025, click here to inquire with me and get the hookup on your wedding photography package!
Going back to the whole wedding vendors thing: their reception had some of the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding. Their catering info is at the bottom of this post, or send me an inquiry to get my DFW vendor list for free!
Their reception was intimate and happy. Full of speeches by loved ones, drinks, and dancing. Keep scrolling to see some moody lowlight details and a classic car getaway.
Avalon Legacy Ranch Weddings
One of my favorite parts of weddings at Avalon Legacy Ranch is the reception space. It’s so perfect for a romantic, backlit private last dance. Last dances are such a special part of the wedding day honestly. It’s so rare for you to have a true moment alone together in the middle of this big thing you spent the last year working on. I always try to snap my photos and give you at least half the dance to be alone together and enjoy those last moments.
