This post is sure to get you your winter fix. ☃️

If you haven’t been following me long, you may not know that Tiler and I eloped in Colorado last year. We got married outside Breckenridge, just us and our photographer, and it was amazing. Needless to say, we definitely have a soft spot for CO, specifically the mountains and Breckenridge. It just feels cozy, and beautiful, and good – you know what I mean? If you’ve been there before, you probably do.

Anyway, this was our third trip to CO and we made a point to knock out certain things we’d been meaning to do. One was staying a night at the resort we stayed in when we got married, just for fun. When we pulled up, we realized this was absolutely not the same place we’d stayed when we eloped. 😂 We must have made a mistake. We were a little disappointed but knew it would probably still be cool, so we headed up to our room.

Y’all. We opened the door and saw THIS.

Breckenridge CO

We couldn’t have asked for a better view, honestly. We popped the champagne and spent a while in the outdoor hot tub before bringing dinner back to our warm room, blinds open to soak it all in while we could.

Shoutout to The Lodge at Breckenridge for their amazing views and accommodations! They’re also pet-friendly for those traveling with their doggos.

The next morning was actually my birthday! We headed back down to Manitou Springs to ride the railway up Pikes Peak. This sits just outside of Colorado Springs, where you find Garden of the Gods. We had an early breakfast at The Kitchen, a true hole-in-the-wall spot if you’re looking for one, (the owner will let you BYOB if you sweet talk him) where I had homemade biscuits and gravy and they played Christmas music from South Park on an old boombox. We walked around downtown a little before heading up to the train.

Scroll down for the views on the way up Pikes Peak and at the summit!
