Elopements

November 1, 2023

The thing I love most about elopements is how unique they can be. Scroll down to see some highlights of Jennifer + Scott’s elopement at a local art gallery in Fort Worth.

What happens at an elopement?

One of the most common questions I get about my elopement photography packages in DFW is how the flow of the day goes. This part is pretty much up to you, BUT I’ll tell you what usually happens. I always show up a little early to get my gear set up and introduce myself to the venue staff.

Planning Your Day

Before your elopement, we’ll have a consult call where we talk about your personalities, what you’re comfortable with, and what your vision for your elopement is. I’ll help you develop your elopement day timeline and answer any questions you have along the way with a fast response time. Click here if you’re looking for your Fort Worth elopement photographer!

Elopement Day

Once you arrive on site, I’ll start snapping little behind-the-scenes photos of things getting set up. We’ll roll into your ceremony where I’ll take all the photos you’d get with a full wedding – walking down the aisle, putting on your rings, your first kiss, and reaction after it sinks in. I love getting the reactions of your friends and fam and the details of your ceremony space that make your elopement unique.

This outdoor space was so warm and inviting. It was perfect for small group of guests to watch their intimate vow reading. After their I-Dos, we took photos in the gardens with the view of the Fort Worth skyline in the background.

Newlywed + Family Photos

Next, a group photo followed by some family photos. Since Jennifer and Scott had chosen such a cool venue, we got creative with some of their guest portraits. I took a snap of each guest standing next to their favorite piece of art. After that, we moved into newlywed photos of just the couple. This part can be more traditional if that’s your style, we can get creative, or a mix of both! We’ll discuss what you want your couples photos to look like before your elopement. Then I usually let people get back to their guests and celebrate their marriage. If you choose to add some more time onto your elopement photography package, I would tag along to your reception and keep taking photos there as a fly on the wall.

Adding Reception Coverage to your Elopement Package

Any time you’re using two venues for an elopement, I advise adding on some extra time. That way we’re able to capture the highlights of your intimate reception and get the whole story in your gallery. For Jennifer and Scott, they set up a beautiful private room at Double Eagle Steakhouse in Fort Worth to hold a private mini reception with their closest friends and family.

This is the best part of eloping is making it your own. You can have your ceremony and a little reception to follow if you want. You can still cut the cake together, have a first dance, or even have a first look if you want. You can still celebrate yourself.
